Ser Prójimo was born from a shared dream, a call to serve and love one's neighbor that began in 2014, when a group of young people participated in an inspiring meeting in Canada. That trip not only allowed us to live life-changing experiences, but it also showed us the power of teamwork and the impact that can be achieved when people come together for a common purpose.

Upon our return, with our hearts full of ideas and motivations, we met with other people who shared the same feeling: the deep desire to help and be instruments of change in our community. These meetings marked the beginning of something much bigger. Together, we began to plan and shape the project that, years later, would become Ser Prójimo, a space where the gifts and talents of each person are transformed into concrete actions of help.

Since then, our history has been a journey full of learning, growth and transformation. What began as an idea in small meetings took shape until it became an independent civil association. At Ser Prójimo we are guided by a clear mission: to be a space that inspires young people and adults to get involved in serving others, promoting values such as solidarity, empathy and commitment.

Over the years, we have carried out projects that reflect our essence. From campaigns to collect clothing and food for the winter, to the delivery of school supplies that allow hundreds of children to start their classes with enthusiasm. We have also responded to emergencies, such as floods or crisis situations, showing that, united, we can face any challenge.

A key moment in our history was the creation of Casa Ser Prójimo, a place that symbolizes the heart of our organization. This space, which needed to be restored and renovated thanks to the joint effort of partners and collaborators, has become the epicenter of our activities. Here projects are planned, ideas are developed and bonds of solidarity are woven. The house is not only a physical place, but a symbol of what we can achieve when we work together.

Each person who has joined Ser Prójimo has contributed their grain of sand, their energy and their unique talents. From the facilitators who guide projects with enthusiasm and leadership, to the collaborators who offer their time and willingness for specific tasks, each one has been fundamental to building this community. Through their actions and qualities, they have made it possible for Ser Prójimo to continue growing.

Today, we continue to move forward with the same passion that brought us together in 2014. Ser Prójimo is a reflection of what we can achieve when we unite with a greater purpose. We continue to promote our mission and vision, develop new projects and dream of a future in which we can reach even further.
